Sick and tired of being sick and tired?

The more I travel around the rooms of AA in Sydney the more people I meet who don't have any idea of the principles of AA. Many think it is some sort of cult. Far from it. If you have a problem with addiction it is the most successful program of recovery known. Give it a try. It's worked for me for nearly 13 years now. It works by one alcoholic sharing their experience, strength and hope with another. It's a fellowship based on unconditional love and support and is spiritual in nature.

Here is the Preamble of AA which is read out at every single meeting worldwide:

ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism.

The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions.

A.A. is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy; neither endorses nor opposes any causes.

Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety.
